Build Your House on the Rock
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:24-27

Here at Whipple, we believe that discipleship is a journey to deepening our faith and walk with Christ. Therefore, we must be both deliberate and also intentional in how we "process" disciples for Christ. We have used the illustration in Matthew of building a house that is able to withstand the storms of life as a great picture of how people can learn & grow, love more like Jesus and to live a life that is pleasing to God. Because no house is built in a day, we believe it takes time to build disciples. We have created a four level tier for our Sunday morning teaching and learning time.

Class 201 - The Foundation
Commons (First floor next to sanctuary) - Taught by Pastor Shaun The next step in building a house is the building of a level and plum foundation in which to erect the rest of the house. In this class we learn about the major doctrines of the bible. Among the lessons would include: The study of Scripture (Bibliology), Who is God (Theology), The Nature of Man and His Sinful Condition, The remedy for that Condition (salvation), the Purpose of and for the Church, and the Culmination of All Things. |
Class 301 - The Frame
TBD - Taught by ____________________ At this point, the disciple has both sure cornerstone and also a firm foundation in which to build on. The next step in building a house is the erecting the frame. This is a 5 year journey from Genesis to Revelation covering all the major people, places and themes of the Bible. The source of this teaching is the Gospel Project. |
Class 401 - The Finish Work
Fellowship Hall - Taught by Pastor John Moosey Now that the proper structure has been built, the disciple is now ready for a life journey into the finishing and deeper teachings of God's word. This class will help people to put their knowledge of the scriptures to life's challenges. Though we are never quite complete and are always learning, this class is designed to really get our spiritual house in order and get us across the finish line. |
